Bitget Expands Institutional Custody and Off-Exchange Settlement Infrastructure With More Flexible Custody and Settlement Options

As institutional digital asset markets increasingly move toward a model that separates custody from execution, Bitget is continuing to expand its open custody and off-exchange settlement infrastructure for institutional clients. The initiative provides greater flexibility in how institutions custody assets, manage collateral, and access trading.

As an extension of Bitget’s institutional infrastructure, the Bitget Open Custody Network enables institutions to retain their existing custody relationships, wallet workflows, and internal approval processes while selecting custody and settlement arrangements that suit their operating models. Eligible clients can then connect to Bitget’s trading, liquidity, and Unified Trading Account infrastructure. Available products and functionality may vary by custody solution.

Bitget currently works with institutional partners including Copper ClearLoop, Cactus Custody Oasis, Fireblocks Off Exchange, OSL MirrorEX, Bitfire PrimeMirror, and Sygnum Protect. Through a range of custody and settlement models, the network is designed to address the differing needs of market makers, hedge funds, asset managers, proprietary and quantitative trading firms, and family offices—across asset segregation, custody choice, settlement efficiency, and liquidity access.

Copper ClearLoop
Client assets remain within Copper’s custody framework while eligible balances support corresponding trading credit on Bitget. Through a single Copper relationship, clients can access multiple trading venues, including Bitget. Copper may operate under an English-law trust structure; it is VQF-registered in Switzerland and ADGM-licensed.
Spot, spot margin, and futures

Off-exchange settlement within the Copper ClearLoop account structure. Settles every four hours and is configurable. Bitget’s standard settlement times are 00:00, 04:00, 08:00, 12:00, 16:00, and 20:00 UTC. No settlement gas fees.
USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, XRP, AVAX, ARB, BLUR, TRX, stETH, SOL, USDe, weETH
Market makers, high-frequency trading firms, and quantitative institutions already using Copper or seeking multi-venue access and collateral mobility
Fireblocks
Fireblocks Off Exchange
Clients create a dedicated Collateral Vault Account within their Fireblocks workspace and manage collateral through MPC technology and jointly controlled processes. Designed for institutions that want to retain existing wallet, approval, and operational workflows.
Spot, spot margin, and futures
On-chain net settlement between the client’s Collateral Vault Account and Bitget’s settlement account. Settles daily at 11:00 UTC+8. Settlement gas is borne by the client.
USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, SOL
Institutions already using Fireblocks infrastructure that want to preserve their existing wallet and approval workflows
Cactus Custody
Cactus Custody Oasis
Through the Oasis custody and off-exchange settlement solution, settlement takes place within the custody framework. Cactus Custody is BIT’s institutional custody service, offering cold and warm custody, MPC wallets, DeFi connectivity, and off-exchange settlement capabilities.
Spot, spot margin, and futures
Off-chain transfers between Oasis accounts. Settles every eight hours. No settlement gas fees.
USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, AVAX, ARB, SOL, XRP, DOGE, LINK, LTC, ADA, TRX, DOT
Institutions focused on custody-integrated asset management, off-chain settlement efficiency, and Hong Kong market coverage
Bitfire
Bitfire PrimeMirror
Off-chain settlement between Bitfire accounts enables eligible institutional collateral to support trading on Bitget without on-chain settlement transfers.
Spot, spot margin, and futures; cross-margin and isolated spot margin capabilities are also referenced in the supporting materials
Off-chain settlement between Bitfire accounts. Settles daily at 10:00 UTC+8. No settlement gas fees.
USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH
Market makers, asset managers, proprietary trading firms, and quantitative institutions seeking end-of-day settlement and access to the Hong Kong custody ecosystem
OSL
OSL MirrorEX
Clients hold collateral with OSL while trading on Bitget. The model uses one-way settlement: client losses are settled to Bitget, while eligible trading profits may be withdrawn from the Bitget account.
Spot, spot margin, and futures
No scheduled settlement cycle. Settlement is triggered immediately when losses reach or exceed 15% of total custodial assets. No settlement occurs while losses remain below this threshold. Settlement gas is borne by OSL.
USDT, USDC, USDGO, BTC, ETH, SOL, XAUT
Institutions that prioritize Hong Kong’s regulated custody framework, flexibility to withdraw eligible profits, and loss-triggered settlement
Sygnum Bank
Sygnum Protect
A custody, pledge, and loan structure rather than a conventional OES mirrored-settlement model. Client assets are held in a Sygnum Protect Portfolio and pledged to Bitget, which provides spot-asset financing based on asset-specific loan-to-value ratios. Sygnum is a FINMA-supervised digital asset bank with a Swiss banking licence.
Trading scope to be confirmed during onboarding
Does not use a fixed mirrored-balance settlement cycle. The structure operates through custody, pledge, and loan processes. Requests are initiated through the client’s Sygnum relationship manager and may take approximately one business day to process.
BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, USD, and U.S. Treasury bonds
Institutions whose investment policies require bank custody, or that have specific requirements for regulated bank custody and traditional financial-services operating standards
