About Tezos (XTZ)

What is Tezos (XTZ)?

Tezos is a blockchain network that operates on smart contracts, much like Ethereum. The primary distinction between the two is that Tezos strives to provide more advanced infrastructure that can evolve and enhance over time without the risk of a hard fork. This is unlike Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have both experienced this issue since their creation. XTZ holders have the ability to vote on Tezos developers' protocol upgrade proposals.

Tezos is a secure and upgradable open-source platform that boasts a smart contract language capable of handling high-value use cases. Its design allows it to remain state-of-the-art for years to come and embrace advances in blockchain technology. The initial white paper for Tezos was published in September of 2014 and, despite several setbacks, the network officially launched four years later.

Who are the Founders of Tezos (XTZ)?

The original author of the Tezos white paper is Arthur Breitman. Interestingly enough, he used the pen name L. M. Goodman, similar to Satoshi Nakamoto. Breitman believed that Bitcoin's lack of a governance process hindered contributions from the community and prevented new tokens from being issued through the blockchain. To address these issues, he founded a startup called Dynamic Ledger Solutions with his wife Kathleen, which was eventually acquired by the Tezos Foundation to secure intellectual property rights of the network.

What Makes Tezos (XTZ) Unique?

The way Tezos involves its participants in the governance process is quite unique. Instead of traditional staking, users can participate in “baking” by staking 8,000 XTZ, which provides a financial incentive to act honestly. Bakers then vote on proposed changes to the blockchain's code in a four-step procedure that takes about 23 days. Proposals that receive support from the majority of participants are tested on a testnet for 48 hours and are implemented if they are backed by a super-majority. Tezos is also gaining popularity among high-profile businesses. For instance, the French banking giant Societe Generale announced plans to use Tezos for experimenting with a central bank digital currency.

What is the XTZ Token?

Tezos' native token, XTZ, serves multiple purposes on the blockchain. It can be used to access decentralized applications, pay transaction fees, stake for network security, and acts as a fundamental accounting unit on the Tezos platform.

How is the Tezos Network Secured?

Tezos, like many blockchains, utilizes a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. Validators can participate in maintaining the network's integrity by making a security deposit. Those who act in the best interests of the blockchain are rewarded, while those who act dishonestly risk losing their stake. This incentivizes honest behavior and helps ensure the smooth running of the network.

$GRVT Anchorage Digital Bank, the first federally chartered crypto bank in the US, has added custody support for Etherlink and seven assets on the Tezos layer-2 network, including xU3O8, a token representing physical uranium. The other supported assets include wrapped XTZ (WXTZ), liquid staking token stXTZ, stablecoins USDT, USDC and USDSM, and wrapped Ether (WETH), according to an announcement shared with Cointelegraph. The integration allows Anchorage’s institutional clients to custody assets issued on Etherlink, an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible layer-2 network that settles on Tezos, through segregated accounts at the federally chartered bank. xU3O8 represents ownership of physical uranium, giving investors exposure to the commodity without directly handling or storing it. At current price levels, it has a market cap just above $9 million, CoinMarketCap data shows. xU308 markets. Source: CoinMarketCap Anchorage is not the first institutional custodian to support xU3O8. In August 2025, digital asset custodian Hex Trust integrated Etherlink to offer custody for xU3O8 and other assets issued on the network. Physical uranium exposure has traditionally involved specialist intermediaries, lengthy settlement periods and relatively high minimum investment sizes, according to Anchorage. The company said tokenization allows the commodity to be transferred and settled in minutes rather than weeks. 🔥 XTZ IS HEATING UP $XTZ is up 12.44% in 24H, trading around $0.2928. The momentum is strong, with price holding above the major moving averages. Support: $0.2889 / $0.2785 Resistance: $0.3049 📌 Trade Setup Entry: $0.289–$0.294 Target 1: $0.305 Target 2: $0.320 Stop Loss: Below $0.278 A clean breakout above $0.3049 could bring stronger upside momentum. If rejected, watch the support zones closely. Fundamentally, Tezos continues to have a solid narrative around on-chain governance, smart contracts, and network upgrades. XTZ is at an interesting decision point. Breakout or rejection? 👀

🏦 Capital Is Chasing Momentum — Institutions Will Chase Confirmation
The futures board is showing a clear risk-on rotation, but the quality of each move is very different. $GMT is up roughly 10.6%, $XTZ about 10.1%, $FLOCK around 11.2%, while $ZETA and $GLM are both above 13%. $SKD is also pushing close to 10%. This is strong short-term momentum, but the key question is whether spot demand can eventually support what derivatives are pricing. Recent market data shows derivatives activity remains much larger than spot across crypto, so leverage is an important part of the current move. $ZETA stands out for the size of its move, but after a double-digit rally I would avoid chasing the first extension. $GLM has similar momentum and deserves attention only if buyers can defend higher levels. $FLOCK is particularly interesting because its perpetual market was newly enabled on OKX on September 12, increasing its access to leveraged traders; current derivatives data also shows futures activity substantially exceeding spot activity. $GMT and $XTZ are showing healthier-looking momentum simply because their moves are less extreme. They still need follow-through rather than another one-day spike. $SKD is the higher-risk name here: the percentage gain is attractive, but institutional capital would demand evidence of liquidity and sustained participation before treating it as a serious allocation. 🏛️ Institutional trader's view The professional approach here is not to buy the biggest green candle. Institutions would typically wait for a pullback, measure whether volume remains healthy, and see whether price holds the breakout zone. If the market keeps producing strong futures gains while spot participation stays weak, the risk of a leverage-driven reversal increases. My ranking: 🔥 Momentum: ZETA, GLM, FLOCK 🟢 Watch for continuation: XTZ, GMT 🟡 Higher risk: SKD Bottom line: the screen says risk appetite is rising, but it does not yet say trend is confirmed. For larger capital, the better signal is not +13% today — it is whether these coins can still attract buyers after the first wave of traders takes profit. $BTW $POWER $BTC

🏛️ Momentum Is Broadening — But Institutions Will Demand Proof
September 21, 2026 | Institutional Crypto Desk The latest derivatives screen shows a clear shift toward higher-beta altcoins. $FLOCK is around $0.084, $GLM near $0.130, and $ZETA around $0.040, while $GMT, $XTZ and $SKD are also posting solid gains. This is more than one isolated pump: several names are moving together, suggesting traders are increasing risk across selected altcoin sectors. Still, broader derivatives positioning remains concentrated in a limited group of assets rather than the whole market, so this should be treated as selective risk-taking, not confirmed altseason. $XTZ — around $0.286: The move is interesting because it is coming from an established network rather than a tiny speculative token. If buyers can hold the breakout instead of immediately giving back the gains, the setup becomes more credible. Institutional view: watch for confirmation, don't chase the first expansion. $SKD — around $7.70: Strong percentage performance, but smaller liquidity means execution matters. A large investor cannot treat a thin market the same way as BTC or ETH. Institutional tip: measure order-book depth, not just the headline percentage gain. $FLOCK — around $0.084: One of the strongest momentum names on the screen. Its earlier cross-market activity also showed unusually broad participation, making it more interesting than a single-exchange spike. Bias: bullish momentum, but vulnerable to profit-taking. $GMT — around $0.0083: A strong move, but the key question is whether fresh volume follows the breakout. Without sustained participation, momentum can disappear quickly. Bias: tactical, not yet strategic. $GLM — around $0.130: Among the stronger performers, but institutions would want to see whether the move develops into a sustained trend rather than a short-lived squeeze. Bias: constructive with confirmation required. $ZETA — around $0.040: The rebound is notable, but current market data shows ZETA remains highly sensitive to broader altcoin risk and liquidity conditions. Bias: speculative recovery, not yet a confirmed trend reversal. 🏦 Institutional takeaway The opportunity is obvious: capital is moving down the risk curve. The danger is equally obvious: leverage can make these moves look stronger than the underlying spot demand. For larger portfolios, I would prioritize liquidity, sustained volume, open-interest behavior and BTC stability over simply buying the biggest green candle. Recent market data shows futures activity remains far larger than spot activity overall, while positioning is concentrated in selected assets. My ranking: 🔥 FLOCK — strongest momentum 🟢 XTZ / GLM — better-quality follow-through candidates 🟡 ZETA / GMT — tactical setups ⚠️ SKD — high-beta, liquidity-sensitive The institutional rule here is simple: let the first move happen. Enter when the market proves it can hold the move. *The revised price levels above are illustrative reference levels for this rewritten article, not live quotations. $BTW $POWER $BTC
