GBP/USD Outlook: Sterling Drops Following BoE Announcement
GBP/USD Slides Sharply After Bank of England Decision
Over the past two trading days, the British pound has dropped more than 1.2% against the U.S. dollar, reflecting a pronounced downward trend as the week draws to a close. The decline accelerated following the Bank of England's latest announcement, which failed to restore market confidence in the pound and enabled the dollar to strengthen further.
With ongoing uncertainty about the central bank’s future policy direction, downward pressure on GBP/USD is expected to persist in the near term. Earlier today, the Bank of England revealed its latest policy stance, choosing to maintain interest rates at 3.75%. Despite this move, the market response remained negative for the pound.
