The final list of five candidates for the new Federal Reserve Chair has been announced.
Jinse Finance reported that U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent confirmed on Monday that the final list of five candidates to succeed Federal Reserve Chairman Powell has been released, and said that Trump is expected to make a decision by the end of the year. Bessent told reporters on "Air Force One" on Monday that the candidates have been narrowed down to current Federal Reserve Governors Waller and Bowman, former Federal Reserve Governor Walsh, White House National Economic Council Director Hassett, and BlackRock executive Reed. Bessent, who is in charge of the interview process for the position, reiterated that he plans to conduct a new round of interviews and hopes to present Trump with an "excellent list of candidates" after the Thanksgiving holiday.
