Eli Lilly expects sales to grow by up to 27% this year, exceeding market expectations
Glonghui, February 4th|Eli Lilly (LLY.US) gave an optimistic full-year sales guidance on Wednesday, expecting sales to grow by up to 27% this year. This guidance stands in stark contrast to a certain exchange, which warned on Tuesday that its sales could decline by as much as 13% this year. Compared to the exchange, Eli Lilly is in a more favorable position because its blockbuster diabetes drug Mounjaro and obesity drug Zepbound still have about ten years of patent protection remaining. Eli Lilly is also more proactive in combating generic competition. On Wednesday, Eli Lilly stated that its full-year sales are expected to be between $80 billion and $83 billion, higher than the market consensus of $77.7 billion. The company expects adjusted earnings per share in 2026 to be between $33.50 and $35, also above analysts’ expectations of $33.08.
