Galaxy launches GalaxyOne with returns of up to 8% and crypto trading
- GalaxyOne combines stocks, cryptocurrencies and offers a 4% return
- Accredited investors can earn up to 8% per year
- Launch marks Galaxy Digital's debut in US retail
Galaxy Digital announced the launch of GalaxyOne, a new platform and app that combines cryptocurrency and stock investment services in a single environment. The solution offers commission-free trading of over 2.000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, and allows users to buy, hold, and transfer Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Paxos Gold (PAXG) at launch.
Aimed at the North American market, the platform offers a savings account with a 4% annual yield (APY) and the Galaxy Premium Yield product, which offers up to an 8% annual return for accredited investors. This second product is backed by Galaxy's institutional lending operations and, unlike the 4% account, is not FDIC insured.
With GalaxyOne, the company is entering the retail investment sector, traditionally dominated by fintechs like Robinhood, eToro, and Cash App. Galaxy CEO and founder Mike Novogratz highlighted that the project expands the infrastructure the company has already built for institutional clients.
"We've spent years building an institutional-quality infrastructure to serve the world's most sophisticated investors. Now, we're extending that advantage to individuals."
stated.
One of the platform's distinguishing features is the integration between financial services and crypto assets, allowing users to move their funds freely between internal and external wallets. Furthermore, Galaxy plans to add new tokens and features throughout 2025, expanding its hybrid investment offering between traditional and digital assets.
GalaxyOne was born from the acquisition of Fierce, a financial super app purchased by Galaxy in December 2024 for US$12,5 million, according to report . Former Fierce CEO Rob Cornish now serves as the company's chief technology officer (CTO), leading the original development team that worked on creating the platform.
The launch reinforces Galaxy Digital's strategy of positioning itself as a complete financial ecosystem, connecting the traditional market to cryptocurrencies through yield, custody, and trading solutions accessible to users in every US state.
