Russian police arrest suspect in suspected $3.2 million illegal mining operation
the Russian police arrested a person suspected of being involved in a cryptocurrency mining scam, involving an amount of 270 million rubles (about 3.2 million dollars), with a total of 100 victims.
A local resident reported in February this year that he handed over an ASIC mining machine to a person who claimed to operate a "mining hotel," promising to provide passive income. The 26-year-old suspect and his two accomplices are accused of selling the received mining machines and embezzling the funds used to purchase other mining equipment.
