US President Trump said in a post, "I look forward to meeting with the new Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. I really hope to work with him, but there is a simple truth that I cannot understand - why does the US subsidize Canada by 200 billion US dollars every year, and also provide them with free military protection, as well as many other things?
