Qi An Xin: The botnet that attacked X platform is the same organization as the one that attacked DeepSeek during the Spring Festival
According to the analysis of Qi Anxin Xlab Laboratory, the large-scale network attacks that caused X platform to crash three times are the same main zombie network that attacked DeepSeek during the Spring Festival. The network is called Mirai variant zombie network RapperBot, belonging to an attack organization of "professional hired thugs".
Qi Anxin Xlab Laboratory found that the attack time coincided completely with the downtime of the X platform, mainly concentrated from 10 pm on March 10th to 2 am on March 11th. This zombie network is active all year round, attacking hundreds of targets on average every day, with thousands of instructions during peak periods. The attack targets are distributed in regions such as Brazil, Belarus, Russia, China, and Sweden. The scale and intensity of this attack were so great that it directly led to X platform experiencing three significant service interruptions on March 10th in the Eastern United States, with a peak of 20,538 users reporting malfunctions.
