Fed sound bite: US unemployment rate not ‘unchanged’ in October
On 1 November, Nick Timiraos, the ‘Fed's sounding board’, said that the US unemployment rate for October, released today, was unchanged at 4.1% on a rounded basis. However, on an unrounded basis, the US unemployment rate actually rose by about 0.1 percentage points this month, from 4.05 per cent to 4.14 per cent.
