About 562 million people worldwide own cryptocurrencies, an increase of about 33% from 2023
According to a report recently released by Triple-A, a provider of digital currency payment solutions, it is estimated that by 2024, approximately 562 million people worldwide will own cryptocurrency, accounting for about 6.8% of the global population, an increase of about 33% from 420 million in 2023. Among them, Asia has the highest number of cryptocurrency holders, with an estimated 326.8 million people holding cryptocurrency, an increase of 21.8% compared to 2023. In addition, among all age groups, the proportion of people aged 24-35 who own cryptocurrency is the highest; and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has the highest adoption rate of cryptocurrency, with 25.3% of its population holding some form of cryptocurrency asset.
