Powell: not too confident about whether rates will be cut this year
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said that there is not much confidence that interest rates will be cut this year, and does not know whether inflation will fall enough to cut rates. Given the current situation, the Fed's policy stance is considered to be in a good place. Considering growth or inflation, stagflation is not considered to be an issue. A year of very high productivity growth was witnessed in 2023.
