Bloomberg Analyst: BlackRock's Bitcoin Holdings Surge, Now Only 38% Away from Surpassing Satoshi Nakamoto
BlockBeats News, July 8 — Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas stated on social media that BlackRock currently holds nearly 700,000 bitcoins, just 38% away from surpassing Satoshi Nakamoto to become the world’s single largest bitcoin holder. (If all bitcoin ETFs are considered as a single managing entity, they have already surpassed Satoshi Nakamoto.)
BlackRock’s spot bitcoin ETF, IBIT, is currently absorbing bitcoin at a rate of 40,000 coins per month (about 1,300 per day). At this pace, it is projected to reach a holding of 1.2 million bitcoins by May 2026—an impressive performance for a product that has only just turned two years old.
